He is the son of Arbab Muhammad Jahangir Khan. Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan was serving as Federal Minister for Communications and had been elected as member of national assembly (MNA) from the constituency of NA-2 (Peshawar-II) in the general elections of February 2008 by defeating Arbab Najeeb Ullah Khan Khalil of ANP by a huge margin of just about 10,000 votes.
As he fits in to Peshawar so he completed his MBBS from Khyber Medical College Peshawar in the year 1987. Later he received a diploma in Internal Medicines from the University of Edinburgh UK. Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan is self-motivated and lively public outline. He is also allied with the Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarian (PPPP). Basically he is a Politician, belongs originally from Peshawar (NWFP). He has enthused earlier from his Political family background which prejudiced him to become a political leader.
